The Foundations of Buddhism

Announcements:

As I mentioned last time, this week we’ll be covering ALL the basics of Buddhism. On this show, we’ll look at some facts about Buddhism, talk about the life of Buddha, have a look at what he had to say, and see how to live according to the rules. That’s a lot for one show, and this will probably be the longest episode ever,. I think it’s worth doing in one big chunk, because when this episode is done, you’ll know the ideas that underlie about 90% of everything else in Buddhism.

And now let’s get to this week’s material!

  1. I have been sharing, with my son, the podcasts available on Itunes and really enjoy your program. I would like to continue listening to them on my ipod, but they only go back to episode 45. How is it possible to download podcasts in the audio archive to my ipod? Is it possible for you to post all of the episodes, starting with Episode 0, on Itunes?
Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication to teaching others.

  2. Sal,

There are technical and cost reasons why all the shows aren’t available from iTunes, but all the past episodes are available from the “Audio Archive” page. There’s a link at the menu at the top of this screen.

Just click the links to download the shows (individually) and “drag” them into iTunes. All of them, from episode 0 onward, are available there.

  3. I’m really looking forward to practicing Buddhism daily, but my environment makes it hard to focus and really put my all into it. I cant find quite and people that really support me! How do I make it a habit of mediating and practicing it?
